Hard Work. Determination.

As Martial Artists, regardless of style, we all know that this is what it takes.

In this, our first episode, we introduce ourselves and share a bit of our history in the martial arts.

We also interview the legendary Allen Pittman and throw some interesting news stories at you.

In this episode, although we mention that we’re going to talk about “Form vs. Function“, we don’t really. The ole bait-and-switch, ya know. Seriously though, we’ve had some obstacles getting up and running, but you’ll find that hot topic of discussion in Episode 3.

  1. Sounds like you’re having fun recording these podcasts. I like the idea and look forward to hearing more. However, i just found out the hard way that if i navigate away from the page, I loose the playback and then i have to start from the beginning again. Also, i was listening to Big Al’s interview and wanted to skip the music and found out that if you touch the “dial” it reverts to the beginning again. Any suggestions on how to fix that?

    Thanks!

  2. Hi Christina. Many thanks for listening! We will be trying a few different players for the site to get feedback on which works best; so far we’ve gottent mixed reviews – for some it works fine and other folks seem to have trouble with it. Unfortunately we have very little control over it other than switching one for the other, as these are standard Flash & HTML5 players rendered in the browsers.

Until we find one that works best for everyone, the best bet is to subscribe and listen via iTunes. Keep tuned for alternative players to test out. Thanks for listening! 🙂

  3. Please check Episode 3 and see if it gives you the same playback issues. We made an encoding change after Ep. 2 to a smaller bit rate and hopefully that will fix it.

If not, we plan on testing each of the available players here on the site and we’ll ask for listener help on picking out which one works the best overall. We need to do this because I (Craig) can’t replicate the playback errors.

There will be two notifications: we will be creating a Facebook presence soon, and notify folks there that a new player is up and to check it out. Til we’ve got that presence and all the folks joined up over there too, we will be making notices via the actual podcast.

Hopefully we will get it all worked out soon! 🙂
